Benefits
As a new club, Winchester Running Club’s membership proposition is still evolving. It currently includes:
- Unlimited access to training sessions.
- England Athletics Affiliation including:
- Discounted Race Entry
- A range of discounts and benefits from England Athletics partners
- Participation in Hampshire Athletics Events
- Free participation and entry for the CC6 series of Cross Country Events
- Free participation and entry for the RR10 series of Road and Trail Events
- Participation in our active WhatsApp community
- Membership of our Strava group
But most of all, we provide a community where you will feel supported to become the runner you want to become.
Becoming a Member
If you are interested in joining, we recommend you come to one of our weekly training sessions to meet other members and get a feel for the club.
So that we can make sure there is someone looking out for you, please email membership@winchesterrunningclub.org.uk to let us know which session(s) you plan to attend, and we will make sure that you are expected.
If, after three sessions, you want to join the club or want to compete in club events, then you will need to complete our registration process and pay an annual subscription fee.
Subscriptions
In determining appropriate fees for the, we have to consider the costs of establishing the club, the need to establish a reserve, an unpredictable number of members, uncertainty over facilities, and affiliation fees.
Membership Types
Membership fees for 2024/25 are as follows:
- Standard – £60 (equiv od £5 per month)
- Student – £45 (25% discount)
Student memberships are available to anyone in full-time education or training.
Membership Year
Our membership year is from 1st April to 31 March. Membership fees are due in full on 1st April. Membership fees will be prorated for new joiners and those joining during March will be charged for a full year with membership through to the end of the next March.
England Athletics Affiliation Fee
All members must be affiliated with England Athletics, for which a separate fee is charged annually and can not be pro-rated. This fee is usually charged or included in the membership fee of your First Claim club and should only be paid to one England Athletics club in any membership year. So, if you are joining Winchester Running Club mid-year and have already affiliated with another club, we will not need to charge you.
