On a busy weekend of sport for WRC the least glamorous race of the season took place in a car park just off the M27, north of Portsmouth in sodden conditions, under a leaden sky. The Victory 5 is a stable fixture in the Hampshire Roadrace League and is in its 77th year.
The 5-mile course is flat and fast – though it does have some interesting twists, turns and bollards to keep you on your toes.
17 WRC runners took part with a smattering of PBs, top 3 finishes and a team win for our Vets Women (Sarah Gurney, Sarah Sneddon & Caroline Carr (PB)).
- 1st V50 – Sarah Gurney
- 2nd VM45 – Richard Bidgood (PB)
- 3rd VM65 – Alan Tulip
- 3rd VW45 – Sarah Sheddon
- PB – George Belfield
Training in a car park has certainly paid off for these folks!
