• New Club – New Records

With a new club come new club records, and this is the first weekend you can officially set them.

We will maintain club records for each gender and age group at most distances and, in the future, may include specific events with high WRC participation. We will post instructions on how to claim records very soon, but in the meantime, we thought it worth clarifying what the rules for setting a record are.

To be eligible for a club record, the athlete, event and result must meet the following criteria:

    • On the day of the achievement, the athlete must be:
      • A fully paid member of Winchester Running Club.
      • A first-claim competitive athlete with Winchester Running Club.
    • In the event, the athlete must, according to the event entry/finishers list, be either:
      • Representing Winchester Running Club.
      • Representing their educational establishment.
      • Representing a higher claim organisation i.e. service, county, region, nation.
    • The event must:
      • Be held under the supervision/permit of a recognised athletics authority (i.e. England Athletics).
      • Be officiated by qualified officials.
    • The result can be either chip or gun-timed and must be evidenced by:
      • A link to Power of 10.
      • A link to the organiser’s finishers list.
      • A copy of the event finishers list.
